Return Policy
You are eligible for a return if you can prove that an incorrect product, medicine, or item different from your original order was delivered. If you want to return a product due to a prescription change advised by your doctor, the product must be unused and in its original packaging. To request a return, please call our helpline or file a complaint through our website or hotline.
Customers must provide proof that Biomed Online Pharmacy delivered the wrong item, which is required for audit purposes.

Important Return Conditions:
Customers are requested to open the package in front of the delivery rider.
Any issues must be reported immediately.
Post-delivery complaints regarding item accuracy, quantity, or expiration will not be accepted.
If a third party receives the delivery, they must check the items properly.
Customers should sign the delivery invoice; otherwise, return claims may not be accepted.
Return requests must be made within 6 hours of receiving the item.
Our team will arrange pickup within 24 to 72 hours.
For prescription changes, a valid updated prescription must be provided within 30 days of receiving the item.

Return Charges:
If the return is due to Biomed’s error, there is no return or delivery charge.
If the customer wants a replacement along with the return, new delivery charges apply.
If the return is due to a customer error (e.g., wrong order, invalid prescription), the customer must bear delivery charges and a 7.5% service charge will be deducted from the refund.
After receiving the returned item, our team will verify its resalable condition.

Exchange Process

Invoice of returned item

Refund Policy
Refunds will be processed in the following situations:

For courier charges, the higher of ৳140 will be deducted

গ্রাহকের পক্ষ থেকে কোনো ভুলের কারণে (যেমন ভুল অর্ডার, অবৈধ প্রেসক্রিপশন, অতিরিক্ত ওষুধ ফেরত দিতে চাইলে) গ্রাহককে রিটার্ন আইটেমের ডেলিভারি খরচ বহন করতে হবে এবং 7.5% সেবাশুল্ক কর্তন করা হবে রিফান্ডের পরিমাণ থেকে।
রিটার্ন আইটেমটি অফিসে ফেরত পাওয়ার পর, Biomed Online Pharmacy Team আইটেমটি পরীক্ষা করবে এবং এটি পুনরায় বিক্রয়ের উপযোগী কিনা তা নিশ্চিত করবে।

Indications

Cebuten is indicated for the treatment of individuals with mild-to-moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms in the specific conditions listed below.

Acute Bacterial Exacerbations of Chronic Bronchitis: Due to Haemophilus influenzae (including β-lactamase producing strains), Moraxella catarrhalis (including (β-lactamase producing strains), or Streptococcus pneumoniae (penicillin-susceptible strains only).
Acute Bacterial Otitis Media: Due to Haemophilus influenzae (including β-lactamase producing strains), Moraxella catarrhalis (including β-lactamase producing strains) or Streptococcus pyogenes.
Pharyngitis and Tonsillitis: Due to Streptococcus pyogenes.

Pharmacology

Ceftibuten is the dihydrate salt of Ceftibuten, is a semi-synthetic Cephalosporin antibiotic for oral administration. Ceftibuten exerts its bactericidal action by binding to essential target proteins of the bacterial cell wall. This binding leads to inhibition of cell-wall synthesis.

Dosage & Administration

Otitis Media-

Adult Dosage: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 10 days
Pediatric Dosage: >6 months: 9 mg/kg/day (maximum 400 mg) every 24 hours for 10 days

Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis-

Adult Dosage: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 10 days
Pediatric Dosage: >6 months: 9 mg/kg/day (maximum 400 mg) every 24 hours for 10 days

Bronchitis-

Adult Dosage: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 10 days
Pediatric Dosage: >12 years: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 10 days

Cystitis-

Adult Dosage: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 7 days
Pediatric Dosage: >12 years: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 7 days

Pneumonia-

Adult Dosage: 200 mg orally every 12 hours for 7 to 14 days
Pediatric Dosage: >12 years: 200 mg orally every 12 hours for 7 to 14 days

Sinusitis-

Adult Dosage: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 10 to 14 days
Pediatric Dosage: >12 years: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 10 to 14 days

Urinary tract Infection-

Adult Dosage: 400 mg orally every 24 hours for 10 days
Pediatric Dosage: >6 months: 9 mg/kg/day (maximum 400 mg) every 24 hours for 10 days

Interaction

Theophylline & Antacid do not alter the pharmacokinetic profile of Cebuten. Ranitidine increases the Cmax & AUC of Cebuten.

Contraindications

Ceftibuten is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics.

Side Effects

Nausea, headache, diarrhea, dyspepsia, dizziness, abdominal pain, vomiting.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category B. There are no controlled data on the use of Ceftibuten in pregnant women. Ceftibuten should be used in pregnancy only when the benefit clearly outweighs the risk. It is not known whether Ceftibuten (recommended dosage) is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be excercised when Ceftibuten is administered to nursing women.

Precautions & Warnings

As with other broad-spectrum antibiotics, prolonged treatment may result in the possible emergence and overgrowth of resistant organisms. Careful observation of the patient is essential. The dose of Cebuten may require adjustment in patients with varying degrees of renal insufficiency. Cebuten should be prescribed with caution to individuals with a history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis.

Use in Special Populations

Renal Impairment-

CrCl 5 to 29 ml/min: 2.25 mg/kg or 100 mg orally once a day
CrCl 30 to 49 ml/min: 4.5 mg/kg or 200 mg orally once a day

Hepatic Impairment: Dose adjustment is not necessary.

Reconstitution

The small bottle contains purified water and large bottle contains granules
Pour the purified water completely into large bottle
Tighten the cap of large bottle and shake the bottle for at least one minute
Use a measuring cup or dropper for reconstituted suspension

Prepared suspension to be consumed within 14 days of preparation if kept in a refrigerator. Shake the bottle well each time before use.

Storage Conditions

Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. For Suspension: After reconstitution, the suspension may be used for 14 days while stored at 2° to 8°C. Keep out of reach of children.
